PostSubject: How to become a mod?   Thu Aug 27, 2009 1:01 pm

This is a very common question. Look no more, Here in this topic we have the steps of being a mod.

with every 500 new members we get on the SOS we will nominate (up to 10) candidates to become mod. Out of all the candidates there will be a poll set up. Depending on the situation the top results will get the job.

Q: What are the chances to get nominated???

#1: Popularity. This is the key, Lets face it, what is the point of a mod that no one likes? That Final guy is pretty much a jerk, if I made him mod then he would just go around abusing powers. Bottom line, if people like you then there'll be a higher chance of you being nominted.

#2: Activity: You have a life. I have a life, no one cares if you're here 24/7. But if people see that you're here contributing to the converstaion a lot then well...it's brownie points. Remember the golden rules: Being here 24/7 saying "lol" once in a while does nothing for you. Adding to this condition your posts and kudos means nothing when it comes to picking out a mod. Lets face another fact, You have about 5000+ posts, great, you're "active" but the question is: What does the post contain? BS that no one cares about? Helpful advice that people can use? Or just plain spam? You decide. Last note: A crap load of post might actually be a bad thing depending on the situation.

So now you're a mod...awesome right? Hell no. Remember one thing, you are not the shit. Don't act like one. So you act all bad ass because you wear the pants to the relationship, now what? You kick, you ban, everyone runs away, no one visits the SOS, we're screwed right? Yes. Bottom line of this rule, Don't abuse your power, I know Final and I don't.

Remember the key: Just because you're here 24/7 doesn't mean you'll automatically be nominated.
