First Topic: So are there any Hackers among us?

It felt like there needed to be a topic in this board so, are there?

It doesn't neccessarily have to be pokemon based either.

Personally I work on spriting but maybe you have other talents?

I like to romhack in my spare time but im not that great at it i mostly do tiles and wild pokemon edits and i do have experience in spriting.

I'm kinda learning how to hack. If you want to learn how to hack games (mainly pokemon games) Theres lots of tutorials on another forum >_> But a lot are about basic scripting and mapping.

Depends what kind of hacking your looking for.

Is it ROM/ISO hacking?
Website hacking?
Computer hacking?
Program hacking?
Even console hacking i.e psp etc

I know a little bit on psp hacking. :/

If u want to learn try going on youtube and i know that there is some tutorials on the pokecommunity forums just scroll till you see emulation and there should be things like toolbox hacks showcase and stuff but there is also one that ses tutorials hope this helps.

@ PokeTam: Yeah I was thinking the pokecommunity forums but, but they are rival forums that we shouldn't talk about. :P (Just in case you thought I was being serious, I'm not)

And I just got confused with plurals in that sentence :scratch:

Plus most of those tutorial are mainly for programs involving pokemon ROM hacking which these guys might not be interested in.

Ack, this topic reminded me...

A few months back I got all excited over making my own ROMhack. I planned out this whole epic (to me at least :<) adventure and the towns and gyms and everything. Then I had trouble finding the tutorials for the stuff I needed, and when I did I was totally overwhelmed. You see, I have no experience with scripting of any sort. I know a bit of HTML and that's it.

Anyway, my interest faded after that. If I ever manage to learn, I'll definitely try my hand at it. I'm pretty sure all the files with my plans are tucked away somewhere...

The only thing I can do is spriting and thats about it, I was tried to learn how to script and I learnt simple stuff like the NPC's walking around.

I can't even manage a Pokesav hack. I suck at hacking. Even tutorials don't seem to help me!

As for me, has anyone heard of a game called GunZ? Back 2 years or more, not sure when, there was a hack called Morphine, I had developed the first anti-hack, I kept it private, only a few friends had it.

I can hack into computers, and etc.
In example, next year, I'll be taking over all the projection screens, and t.v.'s connected to the school computers. Some t.v.'s, mainly the ones in the cafeteria and library are controlled with computers. Well, after taking it over, I'll be playing a disturbing video over it. Hopefully long enough for the whole video, and while everyone is in shock, I'll be leaving the school, going home.

But anyway, out of curiosity, what disturbing video do you intend to use? <_<

Edit: On second thought, I'd be all for something like this if it involved a good Rickroll or something like that. The "disturbing video" part makes me hesitate, that's all. :P

I tried to start my own romhack a while back..
But there wasn't enough interest..

The scripting's hard to learn.
And I was having a hell of a time trying to insert tiles.

Maybe I'll pick it up one day and try again :)

Hacking Fire Emblem games has been a Hobby of mine. Editing the graphics is just depressingly tedious, though. ):

I've never really been interested in hacking. I don't know crap about computers, or anything high tech. The best I can do is use an electric toothbrush. :'(

And there's a few videos I would like to do, I rather not name them.

Hacking MMOs, perhaps. I tried to get into hacking Gunbound, a tactical 2D turn-based shooter, but never really got into it... Gunz hacking would be pretty interesting, though.

Anyway, I always wanted to try making some flash games. I've got a few ideas in my cranium, but I lack software. T_T

GunZ was easy for me, I enjoyed it. Only really used the Anti-Hack I made as I said. When I used Morphine, it was to piss everyone off if I was in a bad mood.

And if you need Flash software use torrents, be a pirate! xD

I've always wanted to get into this, firstly, I think it could be fun to do. Secondly it's a great cause, because after learning to hack, you quite possibly are able to hack the websites that you hate :)

I think it could be a great fun to hack a Banking System.

I can Pokesav perfectly i started hacking but its not my cup of tea but i may make a hack of red just because soon ill have no exams and stuff but its a long dawning task.......

I can hack the overworld, sprites, and Pokemon, but I never learned how to do scripting. I will try to learn that this summer.

I can map, sprite, script (to an extent) and add sinnoh pokés to FireRed. Just never had the time to work on a hack O.o

I just play around with the tiles sometimes. I might learn scripting some day and even make a hack. Maybe...

HTML is not technically a programming language, since there are no compilers. Technically you were not scripting, you were just using HTML.

Um, this may not be considered hacking, but my freind makes mods for Doom.
Also, me and my friend are in planning for a huge Doom Mod in the future. So look out for it if you can find Doom.....
