Wikipedia is the best website ever (minus the SOS Brigade forums)

just a thread to see what people's opinions on wikipedia are and how often you use it. i constantly take wikipedia information for my homework then edit it (mainly dumbing it down) so it's plausible that it could be my work!

you just have to be careful - a guy in my english class and I both printed off the same wikipedia'd information, and both got caught for not doing homework properly! :lol:

Generally, when using Wikipedia for schoolwork, I make sure to check out the references at the bottom first before I resort to Wiki's info. It's much more reliable that way. :D

I just use other websites cause i know that people are going to jack wiki's info, don't want to have the exact same info as another person.

Wikipedia is one of the websites I'd say no to.

People can change the information freely, resulting in wrong facts and etc.

Dude there was one person who said they disliked it. >_>

I use for crappy stuff like game franchises, or animes stuff like that, because its mainly correct. But for the more important stuff I prefer to go to official websites.

I dislike it because anyone can edit the information.

Teacher had us do a report, listed wikipedia as a site, everyone but me failed because they only used it, the teacher had changed the article on wikipedia with the wrong information.

Hah, that's a good way to get the point across... It's best to at least find other websites to confirm the info. That's what I would have done. :|

I think its between youtube or some kind of a search engine, because between those you can pretty much fine anything your looking for me thinks.
