Hey guys, I don't know if anyone will be able to help, but here goes.
I opened my laptop (its a toshiba satellite, running vista) this afternoon, but it wasnt on, which is strange, because i always leave my laptop on. so, i turned it on, logged in, and got to the place where it says welcome and loads your desktop. well, it kept saying welcome and it didnt load the desktop, and after 3 minutes or so the screen turned black, but my cursor was still there and movable.
i then booted it up again to see if it would work this time, and it didnt, so i tried safe mode. it worked at first but the desktop froze on me. then, i tried repair startup or whatever, and i got to the loading screen and after that i got the black screen again. i then tried turning on the computer regularly again, and i only got to the loading screen (the one with the caterpillar things) and that just kept going.
i rebooted and tried the same thing, and after about 4 minutes of caterpillars, the computer rebooted on its own. this time, though, it looked as if it would work, giving me the screen it does when it works, but then it said that there was no bootable device. so, somethings with my hard drive. its a two month old computer, and i dont download that much crap on it, so im pretty sure that the hard drive didnt fail.
ive gotten this message once before, when the hard drive was a bit out of place. im wondering if i should take it out and put it back in, or what. help is very much needed, and without it i most likely will not be able to make videos for a while, so HELP.
EDIT: It works! I think my hard drive has a bad connection, so if this happens again, ill probably send my computer back.
