| Who thought it was a good idea to have flying cars? Most people are barely able to drive properly on land....now we're going to have people flying?! | |

| I think flying cars would be awesome, could save room for wildlife reserves and or homes to be built(no more roads), and could possibly decrease accidents because there would be no need for lanes in the air. Plus who doesnt want a hovercrafrt? |

| Air traffic would not be able to control everyone, there will be bad drivers and worst of all, if you crash people under you would be in trouble. Its the worst idea, even if you say we can preprogram the cars to drive themselves so they don't crash. You could do that with a magnetic train that goes fast and save the environment. | |

| Why not program cars to automatically go to your destination safely? It seems possible and ideal. Also considering drunk drivers, they could just pick a destination, and be driven there by a perfectly safe computer. Sure, there might be a tendency to make a wrong decision accidentally, but overall it's definitely safer.
Also magnetic trains harm the environment. You gotta build tracks right? If you have flying cars that just fly around and land near a building or something, then roads become unnecessary.

To create such a system and replace all the roads would not be worth what it costs. If it could be afforded, however, then it would be a great idea!

The cost of maintaining and building all of those harm the environment more and the cost is much more. Magnetic trains can be placed inside of cities where the environment is already destroyed. It just one long road.

| Automated flying cars would make more sense.
Don't forget that in the air you have 3 dimensions of travel, so traffic is obviously out of the question.
As for running out of fuel: emergency solar battery? At night time, however, the battery would be charged via daytime travel. If the car is kept indoors during the day then a electrical battery comes into play. That'll be one hell of an expensive car, but it's already expensive enough to make it fly. lol

| Lol gundam...nah jk. I was watching something from honda. How ever you look at it flying cars=bad idea. 1) People driving in the air? Many people are dumb. 2) Automated flying cars that is synchronized, what if something happens to the main system causing a 5 second freeze? Hundreds of people dead. 3) Lightning? -_- 4) I'm sure a person could reprogram or rewire something so they can take control of everything putting others in danger. 5) What if something goes wrong? Nothing last forever, that car falls, everybody on board dies and who ever is on the ground dies too. Sweet...

Even though i dont like all the environmental talk, do you know what does into aeroplanes. That aviation fuel is the worst fuel on the planet and that would need to go into flying cars...

THINK OF THE GREENPEACE STRIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! a valid point. I agree. However if flying cars came out people probly wouldnt be buying them for 2 main reasons. 1. probly too expensive (when they first come out) 2. Wel hey, I don't wanna be the first person to fall out of the air because I wasnt near a gas station lol.

I believe that is called a subway. There are also streetcars where I live that run the exact same way, except above ground.

I believe that is called a subway. There are also streetcars where I live that run the exact same way, except above ground. Actually, its called the monorail, and it uses magnets to propell the train along. (we just learned about this in science). But the next biggest development in cars, is magnetic cars. It is fuel effiient reduces traffic, and it reduces pollution. Here's how it works: Magnets are lined up in the middle of the lane, and cars have manets on the bellies of the cars. The opposite forces of the magnets propell the car forword, with out fuel, and in a straight line. It's a pretty neat idea, once you think about it.
