i would think that it is useless because you cant talk to any body because it will mess up the future

But yea i think we can distort time but we cant go back.

The butterfly effect theory is fascinating.

I don't see what the butterfly effect theory has anything to do with time travel. Maybe i'm just not understanding it. >_<

the theory that if you kill one butterfly it could have a huge consequence, like the world blowing up or some shit lol. It's basically saying that simple acts have untold consequences, often times much larger than the severity of the original act. That's my interpretation of it.

Oh, I was reading on another butterfly theory that has a mathematical calculations on random things. Damn Wikipedia.

Technically, if you go faster then the speed of light, you can go back in time.


As long as you only travel in the future or remain unnoticed in the past, the present/future won't mess up.

actually you can travel time, throughout the universe. Different areas of space have a different age. You can travel like this with worm holes, but if you go back to a previous location without going back through the worm hole, it wouldn't matter as time has passed by the time you get there.

I will explain more, just nobody make any topics about space or time just yet. I am currently contemplating about these topics and plan on making one and...stuff.

Different areas have different times, they call it distortion. We can find this on earth. If you have an atomic clock 2500 miles in the air and on the ground they will have a slight difference in time. From what I'm remembering they are beginning to think that time travel isn't very possible anymore. Even if you travel at the speed of light, you can't really go back in time, its just that everything around you will change at a different rate than you.

I don't think travelling faster than the speed of light would make you go back in time.

I always thought of it as if you and light from the sun set off at the same time and you were faster then all that would happen is that you would reach the Earth faster.

To me Time is just a measurment, a name given by man to the development of the Earth, in my opinion it can neither be controlled nor changed.

Like how to see the creation of the Universe.

Go faster than the speed of light, to where the light hasn't hit yet, and keep going for a good distance, at least 1 LY away. Now look back and you'd see into the past basically.

Also, for the twin theory, say you traveled to Planet X, you say goodbye to your twin on Earth and head for the planet. You traveling at the speed of light, and your twin watching you, its a 60 year journey, when you get back 60 years later, your twin is aged a lot, yet you haven't as much.

So supposedly you age less as you speed up.

I've heard of this too but it doesn't make sense. I know it can distort time but to distort it that much doesn't seem realistic to me.

OK guys, I'm confused, can anyone explain the methodology of "distorting time" or whatever it is you're talking about?

A distorted time is basically at the same place you get two different times intervals. One might be traveling slower one might be traveling faster.

Or what normally would be the same time is now different.

hmm, I dont know if that's intended to be a joke or not but it makes sense. Different species of living things could be killing themselves off by creating technologies beyond which they can control. That's definitely something to think about. :roll:

lol on April Fools day they made a fake news report about a new society starting up on Mars. It said that they had found life and that they were shipping people away that day. It was pretty funny, the news caster was pretty freaked out cuz she didn't know it was a joke lol.
