Well, here's what you do: You talk to her. Sit her down and tell her how you feel. I have strict parents, but I don't hate them. They expect everything from me, both in school and out. I do have great success in school, which generally is rewarded with chores at home.

So yeah, just talk to her.

Well, my mom walked out on us when I was little, so she can burn in hell for all I care.

It depends on what you classify as hatred. And how deep it is.

Take my parents for example, they've never been strict, at all, I used to have shitty grades. Now, I'm going to college for free.
My parents both used to do drugs when I was little, which led to me not seeing my dad for a year when I was 6/7.
My mother and I used to have these fights, because she would/still does think that because they were strict with my sister, that they have to be with me.
I'm not saying I'm the perfect son, because I'm far from it. But it's not like I'm out every night, drinking, etc etc. I drink...3-5 times a month. And that's while they're here, so I won't do anything stupid.
Talk to your mother about this, tell her how you feel, it could make a difference, all you have to do is try.
