Seems like a great idea. Maybe it will allow the battles to become a lot more fun to play in. Gets very boring battling with the constant OU type play.

@RPGfan: The lists are based on Pokedex color. Salamence is, and will always be, blue.

Isn't the point that instead of each person putting dibs on a colour that everyone has to use the same colour? Because otherwise it isn't fair. For example, Blue has a much bigger choice than Black. I think the point is to have a monocolour tournament.

Yup, you play with a team of a single color. You don't call dibs on a color. ie. Multiple people can use Blue. I wouldn't advice it, but you CAN.

If the tournament is going to be a colour type Pokémon. Maybe considering that the teams that are non-shines have to be the same, if they are shines they have to be all shines. I guess that way then people are getting a variety of colours and the teams may mix up then. But not sure.. :).

I think we should have the Pokemon color as we see it, or else we may confuse some people and we don't want that.

If you go by sight you change the entire dynamic of the thing by removing the MAJORITY of the challenge in the play style. Not to mention you run the risk of having disagreements like "Shiny Dragonite is GREEN!" "NO! Shiny Dragonite is BLACK!" and you make it so any pokemon could be anything. Typhlosion is Yellow in the Dex, iirc. But some people would call it black. Same with Gallade. He;s officially White, but some may call him Green. By not going by the official list you run a HUGE risk of argument. It's stupid and pointless. If you want Mence, use a Blue team. You can still use Shiny! Just on a BLUE TEAM BECAUSE IT IS LISTED AS BLUE!

If you go by sight you change the entire dynamic of the thing by removing the MAJORITY of the challenge in the play style. Not to mention you run the risk of having disagreements like "Shiny Dragonite is GREEN!" "NO! Shiny Dragonite is BLACK!" and you make it so any pokemon could be anything. Typhlosion is Yellow in the Dex, iirc. But some people would call it black. Same with Gallade. He;s officially White, but some may call him Green. By not going by the official list you run a HUGE risk of argument. It's stupid and pointless. If you want Mence, use a Blue team. You can still use Shiny! Just on a BLUE TEAM BECAUSE IT IS LISTED AS BLUE!
