just is, gotta live with it lol. But an educated answer would be that there are so many people uploading at once that it slows down youtube's server and makes it take a long time to upload your video. You internet connection's strength also has a lot to do with it. So if your internet is running slowly, it'll take longer to upload a video.

^^^yup. If you have 100 people and they all tried to fit through a door, thats what happens.

Could also be that the file size that you're uploading is large. Thus making it much longer to upload. Another reason could be that your Internet connection is very slow. Many reasons I guess.

Maybe its the server of YouTube. People uploading videos every minute, its bound to get cramped.

I know from experience if you want to upload videos the fastest then upload them around 12 o'clock so the server won't be as full.

This even works if you have a slower internet connection like me, and if you have Dial-up I hope you can wait about 3 hours to upload (I have had this experience before)

Also since the file is almost 1GB as soon as it uploads I would delete the file immediately due to the lack of space. What I mean is if you have 120GB hard drive like me you can only get around 90 something videos before you can't get anymore.

He is uploading a 8 minute solo run video to youtube.

0.84 GB is only 840 MB. >_> Not that big, considering you should have a couple hundred GB of space on your computer.

its big for a file to upload on to youtube i mean a whole computer game is like 840 mbs of space on a computer

Depends on what game. Left 4 Dead you need 7.5 GB to play the game, while others only take 0.5 GB to play.

The games I play are at least 1.5 GB, less than 0.5% of my computer's space. No big deal.

It's Either the file size or youtube's server.

It could be other things like Internet Speed, and what type of file is your video, I know that MP4 file upload a lot faster than AVI

My videos start off at 100 MB without audio. Run it through windows movie maker with the audio and it's at 30 MB. And it takes about 6 mins to upload each one (They are either 10 minutes +

What i do because the uploads are so slow, is start uploading it right before i go to bed and its on once i wake up.


Fool proof method =D

Mines not all that slow, it only takes about 8-10 minutes, maybe 15 at the most. You just need to compress it. And if you are compressing it, double compress

Its been really slow lately

Its probably your computer as my videos take from 5-10 minutes to upload
I think using Google Chrome helps too
