IntroductionThis is the team I use practically all the time, I'm sure most of you have seen it. I've been working on this team roughly for 3 or so weeks. Never put that much effort in though. This team ain't up to the metagame either, but really, it doesn't need to be. It win's some, it looses some. Highest CRE I've gotten was like 1400 something, which isn't much compared to some other experts out there.
Team Building This Team started out as an Intimidate team, which failed majorly.
So I replaced some with superior pokemon, which had similar roles. Gallade replaced blissey cuz I hate blissey and gallade served as a special absorber and hit back with banded attacks.
The team started to get good, but Dusknoir and gallade didn't cut it. I needed a harder bander, and a better special wall. This became my team for a long while.
Just one last adjustment, I needed a good, strong priority attack. And I needed that poke to last, so no Scizor who dies in one hit all the time. So I chose Dragonite and his extreme speed, who only dies in one hit occasionally, but I have Snorlax to take the ice attacks.
In DepthInfernape @ Focus Sash
Ability: Blaze
EVs: 64 Atk/194 Spd/252 SAtk
Hasty nature (+Spd, -Def)
- Flamethrower
- Close Combat
- Fake Out
- Hidden Power
---
This lead has some power on it. With fake out, Infernape can break other sashes and kill them off the next turn. HP Electric is for them Gyrados who are stupid enough to try to counter my Infernape :) It may not be a one hit kill, but Gyrados will be weakened enough for a revenge kill at least.
Dragonite @ Choice Band
Ability: Inner Focus
EVs: 252 HP/252 Atk/6 Def
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Outrage
- Fire Punch
- Aqua Tail
- ExtremeSpeed
---
This is the main power behind this whole team. You'd be surprised at how many pokes Dragonite can 2HKO. Even Hippowdons are killed by a pair of banded Aqua Tails. I've also made it bulky as Dragons have good resists, and I could just easily switch in Snorlax to resist Ice Attacks.
Cresselia @ Leftovers
Ability: Levitate
EVs: 252 HP/252 Def/6 SDef
Bold nature (+Def, -Atk)
- Lunar Dance
- Thunder Wave
- Ice Beam
- Energy Ball
---
The main purpose of this is to counter dragons, and Swampert with Energy Ball. Then use lunar dance to revive someone like Dragonite or Salamence and start killing while their counters are weakened or gone.
Salamence @ Yache Berry
Ability: Intimidate
EVs: 236 HP/66 Atk/92 Spe/116 SDef
Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)
- Dragon Dance
- Roost
- Dragon Claw
- Earthquake
---
This is my secondary Sweeper, It attempts to Dance up and surprises the opponent who tries an ice attack as I kill them afterwords. Then it can roost back the lost HP later.
Snorlax @ Leftovers
Ability: Thick Fat
EVs: 170 HP/120 Def/220 SDef
Careful nature (+SDef, -SAtk)
- Curse
- Rest
- Crunch
- Earthquake
---
This is my special wall, it's the standard curselax. All It does is curse, boosting it's defense while walling in special defense and sweep after a few attack boosts.
Magnezone @ Leftovers
Ability: Magnet Pull
EVs: 40 Atk/216 Spd/254 SAtk
Naive nature (+Spd, -SDef)
- Thunderbolt
- Hidden Power
- Explosion
- Substitute
---
Magnezone's main purpose it to kill Scizor, and other steel types. This is the standard set, which subs up on helpless steel types and kills them off, and gets a free attack on the switch in. Explosion is awesome too, it can take out things I have trouble with, like Suicune and Snorlax.
