SOS Brigade DPPt Competitive Battling Tutor Program(Apprentice Applications Now Open)

SOS Brigade Tutor Program

For the past month on The SOS Brigade I have realized that many of the members here are somewhat lacking in competitive battling. I thought that having a Tutor/Apprentice program here much like the one on Smogon will give less experienced players to learn from the ones that are more experienced. Before our program may begin first we must assemble a staff of Tutors that are willing to give time to less experienced players to help them become better. My hope is that we will get enough people that at the end of the program we will be able to hold a tournament for all the Apprentices to see who has made the biggest improvement throughtout the whole process! I am actually quite excited about this and hope that enough people will participate and make this program work.

I know the metagame really well, and although I'm not the greatest battler I'm a very good team builder and team rater. I'm very experienced and I have confidence in my teaching ability. Although I cannot play as well as I probably should be doing, I can help people develop their strategy and build teams with good synergy through my knowledge of the OU Metagame. I am also very active (usually on one of my "other sites"), so contacting me should not be a problem. I want to join this program as a tutor to help new players learn the ropes and hopefully improve my patience (in case you have not noticed, I like to bash people who are stubborn, stupid, and/or use bad grammar). I have played with just about every standard style of team except for Full Stall (which I really hate), although I mostly excel at Balanced Offensive (despite my favorite being Suicide Offensive). The biggest reason I want to join the tutor program, however, is because I really enjoy building teams with other people. I have someone to bounce ideas off of and vice versa. Because I have the experience and passion for team-building, I believe I am a good candidate for tutor.

Well, I hope I can be a tutor, when are you going to decide ST?

Preffered Tier: I use NU teams but mostly I have to deal with OU teams so NU/OU.

Not much to say here except I love to give and take advice, I wish to learn from this as well as teach. I would be a great candidate because I am a decent battler who can take anything that comes at him and make it his own situation. If you love NU's and making people realize how good pokemon can be, I'm your tutor because too many people often think that pokemon in the NU tier suck, but I prove them otherwise.

I strongly agree with you. Im not saying names but I have fought some of these guys before and theyre not all that...
Anyway, whenever ST decides to start this (I think he has enough tutors now) I would like for either you or ST to tutor me for a short time since Im getting better at competitive battling.
I know Aprentices aren't allowed but whatever...

There are a few people here that I would just not even consider making a tutor, and a few that I need to "experiment" on...I think ST and I need a way to "test" them to see if they're "tutor material".

I think there should be some sort of test. Just making everyone here a tutor would not do, since I doubt most of us are even qualified

Never faced Munching before, but I was thinking the same about the others.

I'll be the first to say that Orange is decent at the most. Not tutor material yet though.

RPG????? OMFG! I can beat him easily, the only times he has beaten me is 2 times, one when i was concentrating on another battle, and another testing my brand new team!

well, this is a lot coming from you Steel, I said myself that im not Tutor material but Im making my way to the top with help from others so hopefully someday I will be Tutor Material.
Also, I agree with you and Pokefan in the way that you should test the Tutors to see if they deserve the role.

What about me? I am better than rpg :| if you think he is tutor material then i certainly am! I put up a good fight to anyone who fights me fairly. I should at least be told why I shouldn't be a tutor. No one has given me a reason.
