| Team Brawl Stall! Overview:Today, i was searching through the smogon RMT archive and came across obi's famous stall team. I decided to make my own UU stall team after searching around some more and finding almost no UU stall teams. My team at a glance: At closer lookDrapion@Black Sludge ~Nature: Impish (+ Def / - SpA) ~Ability: Battle Armor (protects user from critical hits) ~Ev's: 252 HP / 6 Atk / 252 Def ~Moveset:
~Taunt ~Toxic Spikes ~Whirlwind ~Crunch
Info: ~This guy is a great UU lead. It has the ability to taunt the opponent to stop it from setting up, it can set up TS, and it can phaze the opponents away. The reason i picked Drapion over roserade as a toxic spiker is: 1. Drapion is bulkier, and therefore lasts longer on a stall team 2. Drapion has access to taunt, a move that really helps me, especially to stop opponents from setting up. 3. Whirlwind. This part right here is the most important. As i stated before, the goal of this team is to set up hazards (something that drapion can do) And phaze as much as possible. (which drapion can also do) Crunch is there as its last attacking move over poison jab for its type coverage, and to mainly kill mismagius, who is a real pain in the ass.----- Steelix@Leftovers ~Nature: Impish (+ Def / - SpA) ~Ability: Rock Head (Recoil moves deal no recoil damage) ~Ev's: 252 HP / 88 Atk / 34 Def / 136 SpD ~Moveset:
~Toxic ~Earthquake ~Roar ~Stealth Rock
Info: ~I know what your thinking, why have toxic when you already have toxic spikes!!?!?!?! Well, toxic is there to poison flyers that can come in, and in case drapion dies, and a poison type absorbs the TS. I chose to go with one attacking move becasue i needed roar in there to phaze the opponent. Gyro ball isnt really much of a help, so i went with EQ over Gyro ball. The most important part of this set is the last move, stealth rock. This move hits flyers hard that resist toxic spikes (and spikes as soon as i get it). Actually, the main goal with this guy is to bring it in on a not very effecitve move, then set up SR on the switch, and roar away.----- Uxie@Leftovers ~Nature: Calm (+ SpD / - Atk) ~Ability: Levitate (pokemon is immune to ground type attacks) ~Ev's: 252 HP / 180 SpD / 76 Spe ~Moveset:
~Light Screen ~Reflect ~Psychic ~Thunder Wave
Info: This is my dual-screening special wall. This is an important pokemon as it lets me set up my entry hazards without the fear (or with little fear) of a OHKO. I chose Uxie becasue it is one of the only UU pokemon that can daul screen and have balanced defenses. (the other one being claydol). I have 76 Ev's in speed becaue i want to be able to outrun some pokemon and get both of my screens set up. Thunder wave is the obvious choice as the last move, as i already have toxic and toxic spikes taken care of.----- Spiritomb@Leftovers ~Nature: Calm (+ SpD / -Atk) ~Ability: Pressure (Enemy attacks lose 1 extra PP.) ~Ev's: 252 HP / 100 Def / 156 SpD ~Iv's: 31 HP / 31 Atk / 30 Def / 30 SpA / 31 SpD / 30 Spe ~Moveset:
~Hidden Power Fighting ~Rest ~Sleep Talk ~Shadow Ball
Info:
~I actually stole this set from obi himself, as it worked on his team. This pokemon is essential as it blocks rapid spin, and it works well with chansy. With the most common lead in UU being roserade, and they always sleep powder on the first turn, i usually bring this guy out early in the game to absorb sleep.--- Chansey@Leftovers ~Nature: Calm (+ SpD / - Atk) ~Ability: Natural Cure (Cures status upon switching out) ~Ev's: 252 Def / 252 SpD / 4 Spe ~Movest:
~Wish ~Protect ~Sesmic Toss ~Thunder Wave (?)
Info: Standard wish blis....er, i mean: standard wish chansey. There is no need for more HP, so i put them all in defenses. Im thinking of changing thunder wave to aromatheropy to heal my pokemon. Anyways, this pokemon is a beast in UU, especally when paired with a ghost Ex: spiritomb. Spiritomb takes all the fighting moves, as chansey takes all the ghost moves. Wish chansey is a good fit to my team as it is one of the best stallers 9if not the best) in the UU metagame. Wish up one turn, then protect the next. When paired with toxic spikes / toxic, this pokemon is deadly.----- Blastoise@Leftovers ~Nature: Bold (+ Def / - Atk) ~Ability: Torrent (Ups the power of water moves when HP is less than 1/4) ~Ev's: 252 HP / 156 Def / 100 SpD ~Moveset:
~Rapid Spin ~Surf ~Mirror Coat ~Roar
Info: ~My last roarer / phazer on my team. Also, my spinner to rid any annoying hazards laid upon me. This pokemon is basically th e opposite of spiritomb (ev and nature wise, that is). Im actually thinking of putting torkoal here instead of blastoise, as i need to take down the ever so common registeel.----- Closing remarks:Well, there you go! This is my UU stall team, A.K.A, the brawl stall.
