| Swampert, the mud fish pokemon. Swampert is very strong. It has enough power to easily drag a boulder weighing more than a ton. This Pokémon also has powerful vision that lets it see even in murky water. Swampert predicts storms by sensing subtle differences in the sounds of waves and tidal winds with its fins. If a storm is approaching, it piles up boulders to protect itself. --- Overview:
Swampert's a blessed Pokémon. For a start, its type combination is wonderful. From the perspective of a Ground type, the Water typing sheds its Ice and Water weaknesses; and from the perspective of a Water type, the Ground typing gives it an Electric immunity. The only negative to come out of this is a quadruple Grass weakness, and with the additions of Grass Knot and Energy Ball, this weakness is a bit more exploitable than it was in the past generation.
All-round, its stats are good, Speed aside. Strong Base Stats in both defences and a strong HP stat makes it an ideal defensive Pokémon, fitting the moniker “Bulky Water” to a tee.
In short, swampert makes a great addition to any team that needs SR support and a pokemon that can really roar away the competition.--- Ability:
~Torrent: boosts the power of Water moves by 50% when Swampert's HP falls to 33% of less. Being a slow defensive Pokémon, it doesn't get all that much out of this ability. By the time it's activated, Swampert is usually within KO range; but on the odd chances it does get to use this ability, it's a nice little bonus.--- In-Game Stats:

| Here are some move sets for Swampert.
Mixpert
Swampert@Leftovers Ability - Torrent Nature - Relaxed Ev's 252 HP / 182 Sp. Atk / 70 Def Moves - Stealth Rock - Surf - EQ - Ice Beam
Not my Fav Swamp, but it does get the job done great. When used right, this Swamp can and will be a sweeping lead. With it's high defense stats, it can survive several Physical hits. Another noticeable thing about this Swamp, is it's Stalling powers. I would recommend this to people who want a great lead, but only to people who have experience with this kind of lead.
PhysicalPert
Swampert@Leftovers Ability - Torrent Nature - Impish Ev's 252 HP / 182 Atk / 70 Def Moves - Stealth Rock - Waterfall - EQ - Ice Punch
Now this is my fav Swamp. This Swamp can take the same hits as the Mixpert, but can dish out more damage due to Swamp's high attack. One very good think about this Swamp is the fact that its STAB move also has a chance to make the opponent flinch. Over all this Swamp Makes a great lead. I would highly recommend this Swamp for new players, and people who want a powerful Physical attacker.
Cursepert
Swampert@Leftovers Ability - Torrent Nature - Careful Ev's 252 HP / 136 Def / 120 Sp. Def Moves - Curse - Waterfall - EQ - Ice Punch
This is pretty much the same as the PhysicalPert, except the fact that this thing can stall so much better because of Swamp's higher Def and Sp.Def stats. With this Swamp, you want to try and get as many Curses up as possible, then just start sweeping. They only downside is the fact that every time you use curse, is lowers your speed, even though it had little speed to begin with. This is a great Swamp for people looking with a little something special for their team.
Roarpert
Swampert@Leftovers Ability - Torrent Nature - Impish Ev's 252 HP / 182 Atk / 70 Def Moves - Stealth Rock - Waterfall - EQ - Roar
I can't believe that I forgot about this one. Roarpert is a awesome strategy. Here is how it works, you want to set up SR, then Roar, and keep Roaring until you are dead, or you run out of PP. I have never used it, but I have seen it been used before, and is effective. Well, that is all I can think of as of right now, if you have any comments, just post them. | |
