This Lead counters 3 out of the 6 most popular leads (Gyarados, Salamence, Hippowdon) very well. It has expert belt so that I don't have to swap all the time, but then again Choice Specs might be better. Starmie is my special sweeper, and has good type coverage.
Starmie can be an amazing Anti-lead. But not with this set. And Gyara, Mence, and Hippo aren't very common leads at all. Anti-lead Starmie looks like this:
Starmie @ Life Orb Natural Cure Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) 6 HP/ 252 SpAtk/ 252 Spd
Grass Knot Ice Beam Hydro Pump Rapid Spin
Kill the lead, then Rapid Spin entry hazards away.
Blissey @ Leftovers Ability: Natural Cure EVs: 148 HP/252 Def/6 Spd/104SpD Bold nature (+Def, -Atk) - Aromatherapy - Sing - Softboiled - Seismic Toss
I needed a special wall, and why bother looking further then standard Bliss lol.
Sing = Bad. Give it Toxic or Thunderwave. Blissey needs no HP, maximize both Defenses.
Heracross @ Choice Scarf Ability: Guts EVs: 104 HP/252 Atk/154 Spd Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Megahorn - Close Combat - Stone Edge - Night Slash
Blissey counter and Physical Sweeper. I went with Choice Scarf to out speed those who think they can out speed and KO me, but instead it happens to them.
Also a revenge killer. Max Speed and Attack, Heracross isn't taking many hits no matter what you do.
Donphan @ Leftovers Ability: Sturdy EVs: 252 HP/6 Atk/252 Def Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Rapid Spin - Earthquake - Ice Shard - Stealth Rock
Physical wall and Stealth Rocks.
not a good physical wall and you'll have a Rapid Spinner in Starmie. Bronzong would fit much better here.
Gyarados @ Leftovers Ability: Intimidate EVs: 212 HP/16 Atk/180 Def/102 Spd Adamant nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Dragon Dance - Return - Taunt - Waterfall
I decided to try this set out. Only 1 or 2 Pokemon seen in competitive play can wall the water/normal type coverage. Taunt is put in to get in another DD or two.
Good, but don't go Bulkydos. This is what you want:
Gyarados @ Leftovers Intimidate Jolly Nature (+spd, -SpAtk) 6 HP/ 252 Atk/ 252 Spd
Dragon Dance Waterfall Earthquake Stone Edge/Bounce
Gliscor @ Leftovers Ability: Sand Veil EVs: 252 HP/6 Atk/252 Def Impish nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Aerial Ace - Knock Off - Roost
Also not very good, but you're okay because Gliscor works with your team. Go with the Dancing Tank set from Smogon. How good is it? | |
